Our experience with Forge has been excellent from the start. We found the company to be extremely professional in their planning, attentive to craftsmanship, and personable in their relationship with us.We live in Jamaica Plain, on the third floor of a classic triple-decker. While fall and winter are manageable thanks to our steam heating system, summer and hot spring days can become unbearable. After years of using window units, we decided to look into mini-splits. We interviewed three different contractors and found Forge to offer the most convincing plan.First and foremost, they were the most thorough in analyzing our specific situation. For instance, our semi-finished basement presented unique logistical challenges, which they addressed with detailed planning that made the execution smooth. We installed three smaller 6,000 BTU units—in the two bedrooms and the kitchen—and a larger 12,000 BTU unit in the living room. The entire installation took six days, but only one day of work was required inside the apartment. The workers were very respectful of our space and needs, cleaning up after each day. The craftsmanship was indeed excellent. Forge pays great attention to finding the most efficient solution while also being mindful of the house’s exterior appearance.Forge’s project was reasonably priced compared to other contractors. The company followed up after installation—first by testing the units, then by checking in to ensure we were satisfied. Their team was also extremely helpful in guiding us through the 0% financing available via Mass Save and assisting with the rebate process. Finally, they scheduled the required inspection with the City and State on our behalf.Overall, we couldn’t be happier with Forge. They truly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate a moment to recommend to anyone who is considering installing heat pumps/mini-splits.

Starting the Mass Save Heatpump project with them was a lot less of a headache than I expected. The UI on their website helped a lot. The pricing was fair for the work done and communication was good with the project coordinator.The heatpump install went very smoothly and the hardware was installed very cleanly and professionally. Everything was assembled with care and precision. Also they CLEANED UP after the job was done! It was really refreshing to have a positive experience with a home contractor group.

Forge was quick and efficient. Even when running into some supply delays they worked to hold to their original quoted price. They finished the project ahead of time and were very respectful during the work they did in my house. I would recommend them for any HVAC project in the future. They made the Mass Save process easy and painless as well.

Hired Forge to do my HVAC installation. They did an excellent job and the customer service has been great. Their prices were reasonable compared to other companies for HVAC installation. However, I did get a quote from them for some electrical work I needed done since they mentioned they offered that service, but they quoted me a ridiculously high amount compared to other quotes I received for the same work. That was disappointing since I really liked the work they did and wanted to hire them for that job as well. Even so, highly recommend Forge for your HVAC needs. They also accept the Mass Saves program for those interested.

From start to finish I had a great customer experience with Forge. I heard about them from a good friend, and was impressed with their new approach to building skilled workers in the trades. Their salesman, Guy, was down to earth and awesome. Didn't feel like I got a single sales pitch but a fellow Bostonian giving me the pros and cons. Cayden and Josh were the primary HVAC guys on the project, they were professional, communicative, hard working, and very personable. I greatly enjoyed my time with them. The overall cost of the project was lower than any other company along with a great final product. For anyone looking to go with heat pumps, this is the company I would recommend.We completely removed our radiators and old heating system. For our house, the heat on the first floor definitely isn't as cozy and strong as with the radiators, but on the 2nd and 3rd floor it's better. I'm writing this the week of January where it isn't getting above freezing and the mini-splits are doing great heating the house, they work in the cold as advertised! The efficiency is lower, so it costs more than natural gas, but I'm hoping with a full year the costs will even out when it can be more efficient in the spring, summer, and fall.

Forge was great from start to finish. Proposals for the heat pump installation included heat load calculations that gave the best choice of equipment. The install team did a great job with installing the heat pumps and lines are properly fitted and covered. The heat pump has been working well.

From start to finish, our experience with Forge was terrific. They were very responsive to our specific requests regarding the type of heat pumps we wanted to install (ducted upstairs and standing mini splits on the 1st floor) and worked with us to limit the number of lines running along the outside of our house. Everyone we talked with was incredibly pleasant. The contractors who did the work were very professional, but also clearly enjoyed their work. We could hear them chatting and laughing as they worked--very convivial. By and large they met or exceeded their schedule. We had to get a hotel due to having cats while the installation work was done, and they managed it in about half the time we expected, which made a potentially stressful experience for our boys much less of an issue. We highly recommend Forge!

Forge Co installed an additional wall mounted unit to the existing multizone Mitsubishi heat pump. Not only did they do an amazing job, they also fixed some issues that were done by the initial contractor several years ago. This meant they had to spend an extra 2-3 hours more to make sure they test run units and repair/fix pre-existing plumbing issues, recovered refrigerant and Leak Test existing refrigeration line sets, initiate Vacuum Sequence and then charge with refrigerant. They only left once they were satisfied everything was in great working order.The 2 folks who worked on the project were very professional and polite and always kept in informed on what they were doing.

Very satisfied with the work done and the overall professionalism of the team! We had Forge help install a ductless mini split unit for our basement. We had an older unit that stopped working so we were hoping the new unit could go in the same spot. A different company came by before and gave us an outrageous quote thinking that the unit needed to be moved to a different location. Forge took the time to investigate whether our ask was possible and talked through alternative plans if it was needed. Turns out it was totally possible to use the original spot! They did a pressure test to ensure there's no leak, helped vacuum out all the lines, and tested the drain pipe to make sure everything was good before they left. They were on time, efficient, and so easy to work with.
