Mitsubishi heat pump

Quilt heat pump cost in Massachusetts

Quilt is a design-forward ductless mini-split built for homes where the indoor unit is visible — living rooms, bedrooms, renovated spaces. Unlike standard wall-mounted mini-splits, Quilt’s indoor units are designed to blend into the room rather than stand out from it. Forge is the first certified Quilt installer in Massachusetts.

What does a Bryant heat pump cost?

Quilt is a ductless-only product. It follows the same per-room pricing structure as Forge’s other ductless installations, but tends to land at the upper end of the quoted range due to the premium hardware.

Whole-home ductless before rebates

  • 3 rooms: $10,900 – $20,900
  • 5 rooms: $21,500 – $31,500
  • 7 rooms: $32,100 – $42,100

Partial-home ductless before rebates

  • 1 room: $7,000 – $13,400
  • 2 rooms: $11,800 – $21,800

Within these ranges, Quilt typically costs about 10% more than a standard Mitsubishi system and about 20% more than a Bryant system.

Why Quilt costs more

The Quilt premium is entirely about the indoor unit design:

  • Aesthetic integration: Quilt’s indoor units are flat, minimal, and designed to mount flush against the wall. They look more like a built-in element than an HVAC appliance.
  • Smart controls: Quilt heat pumps include built-in smart features like app control, scheduling, occupancy-based automation, and real-time energy monitoring. Homeowners can adjust temperatures room-by-room, set schedules, and track energy usage directly in the app.
  • Newer brand: Quilt is a newer entrant with lower production volume than Mitsubishi or Bryant, which means less manufacturing scale.

The outdoor condenser and installation labor are comparable to other brands — the premium is concentrated in the indoor hardware.

Mass Save rebate eligibility

Quilt systems are eligible for Mass Save rebates of up to $8,500 for whole-home installations. Forge handles the rebate submission and collection.

Who should consider a Quilt heat pump system?

Quilt is the right choice for homeowners who care about how the indoor unit looks — particularly in renovations, open floor plans, and rooms where a standard mini-split would be visually intrusive. It’s not the budget option. If appearance is secondary, Mitsubishi and Bryant deliver the same heating and cooling performance at a lower price.

Forge was the first certified Quilt installer in Massachusetts, which means faster service, direct manufacturer support, and installation expertise specific to the product.
